A newborn baby was on Thursday found buried under a pile of rubbish in a septic tank.
The abandoned baby was rescued after residents heard loud cry under
pieces of wood in a village, in West Java, Indonesia, The Sun UK
reports.
Villagers gathered round the man-made hole used to dump waste next to
an empty house and removed the debris to reveal a tiny leg sticking in
the air.
The baby boy was immediately rushed to hospital where he is recovering.
Narrating the incident, a villager said: ”There were tears. I along
with other residents went into grounds of the empty house and it is
true, there was a baby without any shawls or clothes.
“The baby had suffered a cut to his head while the rotting placenta was found nearby.
“After we brought to the midwife we immediately took the baby to the
health center Puskesmas Haurgeulis and then there was a referral to
Bhayangkara hospital.
“We also immediately reported it to the police.”
It was gathered that the house was empty when the Police arrived at the scene
Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner, Fajarudin Arif said investigations
are ongoing to know the parents of the child as it is not known if the
owners of the house closeby are linked to the abandoned baby.
He added that a DNA tests would be conducted on the baby to try to trace the parents.
”As soon as we follow up the findings of the investigation into this baby, we will surely find the parents,” he added.
